Dixon Group Canada - Aluminum Foundry & Machine Shop

Modern aluminum foundry and machine shop, featuring autopour technology and robotic automation.

Rating: Intermediate

Dixon Group Canada produces aluminum & brass/bronze parts for use in the petroleum & dry bulk transfer industries. We employ 165 people in Winnipeg, with 30 at our distribution locations in Edmonton, AB., Mississauga, ON., & Pointe-Claire, QC. Our new foundry (2024) features auto pour technology, improved melting capability & capacity, improved casting quality & capacity, and improvements to employee safety. We have a full machine shop with some robotics & automation, with focus on improving process flow from the foundry all the way through shipping of finished goods.

We have made considerable investments in regard to employee safety & engagement, highlighted by the addition of a new shipping/receiving area and employee lunchroom (2022).

The foundry upgrade was a challenge. There were many supply chain issues post-COVID, obtaining permits was arduous, and there were a lot of moving parts. It was a great team effort to keep the project on time and on budget.
